What this practice test covers
Questions are drawn from all five N10-009 domains in roughly the proportions CompTIA publishes for the exam:
- Networking Concepts (about 23%) — OSI model, ports and protocols, IPv4 subnetting, IPv6, cloud, media, topologies, SDN and VXLAN
- Network Implementation (about 20%) — routing protocols and administrative distance, VLANs and trunking, STP, link aggregation, PoE, wireless channels and standards
- Network Operations (about 19%) — documentation, baselines, SNMP and flow monitoring, RTO/RPO and recovery sites, DHCP relay, DNS records, jump boxes
- Network Security (about 14%) — MFA, 802.1X with RADIUS, TACACS+, ARP spoofing, evil twins, port security, screened subnets
- Network Troubleshooting (about 24%) — the CompTIA methodology, cabling faults, DNS and DHCP failures, subnet mask errors, jitter, CRC errors, signal strength, and the right tool for each job
The real exam has up to 90 questions in 90 minutes, including performance-based items, with a passing score of 720 on a 100–900 scale. This 50-question set is for practice: every explanation names the objective it tests so you can go straight to the right section of the official objectives when you miss one.
How the practice test works
Every attempt shuffles the question order and the order of the answer options. In Study Mode you see whether you were right, plus the explanation, immediately after each answer. In Timed Mode explanations are held back until you finish. The result screen shows your overall percentage and a per-domain breakdown, kept only in your browser's local storage; nothing is sent to a server and there is no account to create.
Using it in a study plan
Take one attempt cold to find your weak domains. Troubleshooting and Networking Concepts together are nearly half the exam, and both lean on subnetting and port numbers, so drill those until they are automatic. If you are deciding between networking certifications, read Network+ vs CCNA and A+ vs Network+; for the whole CompTIA sequence see the certification path guide, and for study technique how to study for IT certification exams.
Always check the current exam objectives on CompTIA's website before booking, since domain weights and question counts can change between exam versions. This is an independent practice test and is not affiliated with or endorsed by CompTIA.
