Who makes CertQuiz, and how

Built by one person, with the rules written down

CertQuiz is built and run by Rizwan Shoaib, an independent software developer who publishes mobile apps and web tools as OVC Tech. He is not a certification instructor and does not claim to be one; he is a developer who wanted a practice tool that costs nothing, needs no account and never uploads your files, and who treats the site as a product with a maintenance schedule rather than a page that was published once. There are no investors and no paid tier.

How the guides and questions are made

Topics come from what candidates search for and from gaps against the official objectives. Each guide starts from a written brief and is drafted with AI assistance under a fixed set of rules: cite only primary sources (vendor objectives and exam pages, NIST publications, IETF RFCs), never use recalled exam questions, never promise a pass, and never publish a statistic that cannot be traced to its source. Before anything goes live it passes automated checks — every cited figure is compared with the page it cites, and the draft must clear a quality threshold and a structure checklist. Drafts that fail stay unpublished.

Practice questions are written for this site to test the published objectives, with a plain-language explanation for each. They are not recalled from any live exam. The full process, and what it does not guarantee, is on the About page.

Dated, reviewed, and correctable

Every guide shows when it was published, when it was last changed, and when it was last reviewed against the exam objectives it covers, with a link to the vendor's official objectives so you can check for yourself. If you find a mistake, tell us: errors are corrected in the published page, and the updated date changes so you can see it happened.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no paid tier, trial or question limit. The site is supported by ads, and you never need to create an account or give an email address to use the practice test, the guides or the player.

Are the questions from the real exam?

No. They are written for CertQuiz to test the published objectives. Using recalled exam questions breaks the candidate agreement every vendor requires, and we do not host, sell or endorse them. Read what actually happens if you use exam dumps.

Why won't my VCE file open?

Older VCE files are ZIP archives of question data and open directly. Newer ones are encrypted, and no browser-based tool can read them. Our VCE guide has a 30-second test and the routes that work for each case, on Windows and Mac.

My PDF uploaded but no questions appeared — why?

The player reads the text inside a PDF and looks for numbered questions, lettered options and an answer line such as “Answer: B”. A scanned PDF is just pictures of pages with no text to read, and a document that never states the correct answer gives the quiz nothing to mark against.

Which exams have a ready-made practice test?

CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) and CompTIA Network+ (N10-009), each with 50 questions weighted like the real exam's five domains. For any other certification, use the player with your own practice material. More pre-built exams will be listed only when their question banks are complete and checked.
